De trem metropolitano, vamos at\u00e9 a esta\u00e7\u00e3o final Graja\u00fa, o mais longe que se consegue ir at\u00e9 a imensa zona sul da cidade sem recorrer as linhas de \u00f4nibus. Dali at\u00e9 nosso destino final o caminho \u00e9 relativamente curto. Vamos at\u00e9 o pequeno bairro Parque Cocaia, pertencente ao distrito do Graja\u00fa, fincado exatamente entre os bra\u00e7os das represas Billings e Guarapiranga. L\u00e1, em um t\u00edpico bairro distante das afeta\u00e7\u00f5es do centro e das zonas ditas mais &#8220;nobres&#8221; da cidade, est\u00e1 o homem que vai nos contar suas hist\u00f3rias. Em frente a um pequeno port\u00e3o no n\u00famero 6 da rua Tavarede, aguardamos por alguns minutos Edinei Cantieri. Ele est\u00e1 em cima da casa retirando algumas t\u00e1buas por conta de represamento de \u00e1gua na laje. Desce e vai nos receber. Do corredor estreito, com um kart de motor dois tempos (um de seus hobbies) encostado na parede, sai &#8220;Dinei&#8221; que, sorrindo, nos d\u00e1 as boas vindas.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>S\u00e3o Paulo, January 30, 2020. A heat wave punishes the city and the threat of heavy rains, which promise to mess up the lives of <span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">its inhabitants<\/span><\/span>, hangs in the air. By metropolitan train we go to the Graja\u00fa final station, as far as you can get to the immense south area of the city without using the bus lines. From there to our final destination the path is relatively short. We go to the small neighborhood called Parque Cocaia, belonging to the Graja\u00fa district, located exactly between the arms of the huge Billings and Guarapiranga dams. There, in a typical neighborhood far from the downtown and from the most &#8220;noble&#8221; areas of the city, is the man who will tell us his stories. In front of a small gate at number 6 of Tavarede Street we waited for a few minutes for Edinei Cantieri. He is on the roof of the house, removing some boards due to water impoundment. Come down and receive us. Queria que seu local de trabalho estivesse impec\u00e1vel para n\u00f3s e para voc\u00ea que est\u00e1 lendo isso. Na manh\u00e3 da entrevista disse estar com um frio na barriga. Afinal, provavelmente, era a primeira vez que algu\u00e9m queria legitimamente conhecer seu trabalho e ouvir o que ela tinha a dizer a respeito.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>By the time we agreed on the recording date for the interview, Dinei had been both euphoric and apprehensive. He wanted at all costs to clean and fix the shop, literally, up to the ceiling before we arrived. He was a little upset to predict that there would be no time to paint the ceiling. After all, it was probably the first time that someone legitimately wanted to know his work and hear what he had to say about it.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Na casa, onde mora com seu pai e sua irm\u00e3, montou com esmero uma oficina mec\u00e2nica nos fundos dedicada exclusivamente a trabalhar com um objeto que \u00e9 sua paix\u00e3o absoluta desde garoto: as lend\u00e1rias Yamaha RD 350, uma motocicleta que fez parte da hist\u00f3ria do motociclismo no pa\u00eds por conta de ter formado muitos pilotos e tamb\u00e9m por ter tirado a vida de muitos motociclistas imprudentes ou despreparados.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>In the house where he lives with his father and sister he carefully set up a mechanical workshop in the back dedicated exclusively to working with an object that has been his absolute passion since he was a boy: the legendary Yamaha RD 350, a motorcycle that was part of the history of motorcycling in the country for having trained many pilots and also for taking the lives of many reckless or unprepared riders.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A Yamaha RD 350, para aqueles que ainda n\u00e3o a conhecem, \u00e9 uma motocicleta lan\u00e7ada nos anos 70. Seu motor de 2 tempos entregava uma cavalaria generosa (para a \u00e9poca) em um conjunto de freios, quadro e suspens\u00f5es quase que subdimensionados para tal. Aliado a isso, tamb\u00e9m havia a fama dos motores 2 tempos, t\u00edpicos de competi\u00e7\u00e3o, por trabalharem em alto giro e serem explosivos (no bom sentido) e temperamentais. Esse conjunto \u00fanico rendeu o apelido de vi\u00fava negra ao exemplar antigo pelo fato de em algumas ocasi\u00f5es de tirar a vida ou dar enormes sustos nos seus pilotos. Um modelo mais novo ressurgiu nos anos 80, tamb\u00e9m com motor 2 tempos, herdando o nome do modelo dos anos 70. Apesar de ser uma outro moto, completamente diferente, tornou-se a herdeira espiritual da RD original e tamb\u00e9m acabou ganhando o mesmo apelido.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The Yamaha RD 350, for those who do not know it yet, is a motorcycle launched in the 70s. Its 2-stroke engine delivered generous cavalry (for those times) in a set of brakes, frame and suspensions that were almost undersized for this. Incont\u00e1veis rodas, escapamentos, carenagens e todo tipo de pe\u00e7as que hoje em dia j\u00e1 s\u00e3o rar\u00edssimas de se encontrar. Entre jarras de \u00e1gua e suco gelado, que nos serviu com todo o carinho, Dinei come\u00e7a a nos contar sua hist\u00f3ria e por que raz\u00e3o s\u00f3 trabalha com uma \u00fanica motocicleta. A cada pergunta, ou pela simples men\u00e7\u00e3o da moto, d\u00e1 pra perceber que os olhos do homem brilham e provam que ele realmente \u00e9 apaixonado pela moto e pelo que faz.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>There, in the two rooms at the back of the house and along all the courtyard, you can see pieces and parts of RD 350 in every corner. Countless wheels, exhausts, fairings and all kinds of parts that today are very rare to find. Assim que o fez, come\u00e7ou sozinho e aprendeu muito ao longo do tempo com erros e acertos. Precisou de um ajudante e hoje trabalha com Rafael a quem chama o tempo inteiro de &#8220;meu menino&#8221;. Mas trabalha no seu tempo, cuidando das motos como se fossem suas com todo capricho e aten\u00e7\u00e3o que elas merecem. Por conta disso, seu nome se tornou conhecido no mundo das 2 tempos pelo Brasil afora. \u00c9 lugar comum receber motos de v\u00e1rios estados do Brasil ou para preparar ou restaurar. Incrivelmente, Dinei n\u00e3o \u00e9 apegado ou algu\u00e9m que usa freneticamente as redes sociais. Tem um perfil no Facebook e atende muito por Whatsapp. E para por a\u00ed. O que tornou Dinei conhecido foi a propaganda boca a boca que de fato parece ser o grande trunfo de sua oficina. A maioria de seus clientes o s\u00e3o por indica\u00e7\u00e3o. J\u00e1 virou lugar comum ouvir por a\u00ed, ao questionar onde levar uma RD 350, &#8220;leva no Dinei&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" style=\"color: #333333;\" lang=\"en\"><em><span class=\"\" title=\"\">As with many motorcyclists, the RD350 was passion at first sight for Dinei. But he works in his pace, taking care of the bikes as if they were his own with all the care and attention they deserve. Because of this, his name became well knowed in the world of 2 stroke engines in Brazil. It is commonplace for him to receive motorcycles from various states in the country for prepare or restore. Incredibly Dinei is not attached or someone who frantically uses social media. Has a Facebook profile and uses Whatsapp a lot. And that&#8217;s it. Por que mais motos e mais trabalho se tornariam um cen\u00e1rio no qual muitas coisas iriam sair do seu rigoroso controle de qualidade e dedica\u00e7\u00e3o e isso ele n\u00e3o quer. E, se depender dele, elas n\u00e3o v\u00e3o acabar. Dinei s\u00f3 quer fazer seu trabalho meticuloso no seu ritmo e ter o m\u00ednimo de reconhecimento por isso.
